The village has a thriving allotment site – the Bowling Alley Allotments, situated at the corner of the High Street and Old Road.
With allotment holders ranging in experience from complete novices to professional-grade vegetable gardeners, anyone who likes growing vegetables will find the allotments very congenial.
The Bowling Alley Allotments Association (BAAA) supports allotmenteers and looks after plots which provide small growing areas for those who do not want to take on a whole allotment.
